Where are you located?

Providence Music Academy does not have a specific location. Our main service is private music lessons in your home. The demand is so great for in-home music lessons, that we've decided not to have a studio. Instructors are available to come to your home throughout the North Dallas Area (roughly the area bounded by Uptown, Midway Rd. LBJ, and White Rock Lake). Recitals, Day Camps, and Group Lessons take place in venues that we lease for each event.

What instruments do you offer lessons for?

Private lessons are offered for piano, guitar, trumpet, and violin/viola. Group lessons are offered for guitar.

When are lessons offered?

Lessons are offered Monday - Thursday in the afternoon and evening. Lessons are also available during weekdays by special arrangement. Some group lessons may be offered on Saturday. Check the Group Lessons page for offerings.

I don't have an instrument, but I want to learn...

Finding a good instrument is important when you're starting out. We are more than happy to give you advice when purchasing or renting an instrument. Please contact us and we'll give you tips for your particular instrument.

How / Where do I get music and supplies?

We are a "full service" music academy. We will bring to you any music or supplies (i.e. stands, metronome, tuner etc.) that you will need. You simply reimburse us for the cost. Our knowledge and expertise will ensure that you get the best products at the best value.

What style of guitar to you teach?

Unlike other instruments, there are about as many ways to teach the guitar as there are teachers. We teach a semi-formal popular approach to guitar. This means that we teach standard music notation as well as tablature, and that we teach rhythm guitar (stumming chords) as well as melodic guitar. Our beginning students learn a broad variety of styles including folk, classical, rock, blues, and country. Once a student has reached an intermediate level, we encourage them to focus on a particular style that fits their interest and need. Our method is not a formal classical-only style of instruction.

How young can my child start learning an instrument?

We offer lessons with specially designed curiculum for very young students on violin, piano, and guitar. Students in grades K-2 can begin to learn music with our specially designed method. Contact us for more info.
